A West Cork-based artist is one of 20 who have been specially chosen to take part in a unique fundraiser.

Sara Hodson, whose studio is in Ballygurteen, has been commissioned to take part in a creative public arts fundraising initiative called ‘under stARTers orders.’

Sara and the others all received a life-size resin horse sculpture that was primed and ready to paint in their own unique style. On completion, all works will be sold and the proceeds will be shared equally between the Irish Injured Jockeys and Sensational Kids who have a base in Clonakilty.

The public will have the chance to visit and view these spectacular works while on public display at various locations from April to June of this year while Sara’s will be on show this Sunday from 2-5pm at her studio.

A guide price of €10,000 has been put on each piece, with many of the sculptures expected to be sold over the coming weeks as the artist’s progress and interest in the project peaks. For more see www.startersorders.ie or sarahodson.com
