Ahiohill is Strictly on high alert for dance comp

ON a recent Friday night, the dancefloor was set and polished in the Four Winds, Ahiohill ahead of the much-anticipated Plunketts Go Dancing. 

The success of last year’s two sell-out shows was understood when one entered Ahiohill that pre-Christmas evening, with excitement amongst all age groups – such is the affect this dancing fever has had on the village of Ahiohill and surrounding areas after last year’s success. 

On approach, the sound of music and the tapping of dance shoes could be heard from the village. 

On the night, all was revealed to the dancers and to the public in a packed lounge room. 

The 24 participants found out who they will be dancing with and – more importantly – to which dance they will be dancing to. 

The variety of dances performed on the upcoming night will encompass the jive, the cha cha, the technical tango, the Charleston and a steamy salsa! 

The 12 couples, who have been practising individually over the Christmas period, and prior to their pairings, gave everyone a little glimpse of what they have to look forward to. 

So Ahiohill is set to be transformed by sequins, glitter, razzle dazzle over the coming weeks as Strictly fever descends on the village once again in 2019. 

The fundraiser, in aid of the development of St Oliver Plunkett’s, will take place on Februrary 9th in Fernhill House Hotel.
