The cosies are the creation of Crosshaven’s Helen O’Leary of Haven Yarns who has previously hit the headlines with her Donald Trump and Michael Tea Higgins lines.

The gifted crafter revealed a range of new products – including coffee cosies to fit cafetieres – at the traditional opening to the festive season with last weekend’s Craft Fair in Cork.

The skilled knitter believes more and more people are reverting back to the traditional teapot when making a cuppa.

‘People are definitely getting away from dunking tea bags in a cup and are reverting back to the traditional teapot,’ she said.

‘Michael D is still the number one seller. People just love him, but Donald Trump is still in demand, and I recently presented Marty with my tea cosy in his likeness. Coffee-lovers were giving out that I was leaving them out, so I started a range for them too.’
