WEST Cork Animal Welfare Group’s annual dog walk will take place at the Long Strand in Castlefreke this Sunday, August 19th.

The event, starting at 2.30pm, always attracts a huge crowd of people who are keen to demonstrate their support for the charitable organisation, which was founded 19 years ago.

This year’s walk will be led by Pilgrim, a rescue dog that has become something of a celebrity on Facebook, especially among those who have been charting her recovery.

Everyone is welcome to attend – just remember to bring your dog – and join one of the variety of walks that will be taking place in the vicinity.

Afterwards, there will be plenty of refreshments, cakes and goodies for sale and it is always a hugely sociable occasion for dog lovers from all over West Cork.

The top prize in this year’s raffle is a €500 voucher for any Irish Country Hotel, plus lots of runner-up prizes including dinner vouchers.
