A CLONAKILTY mum has created an online blog (diary) which has caught the imagination of readers.

Aine Bonner, who calls her blog The Baker Farm, has been writing about her life as a mum-of-three in the West Cork town since last February.

The new video/diary blog features her entire ‘entourage’ – mum Aine, dad Noel and the kids, Maisie (5), George (3) and Tessa (1).

The Baker parents are both journalists who moved to Cork from Dublin to build the house of their dreams on Noel’s family farm.

While Dad is going back to his roots, Aine, an islander from Arranmore in Co Donegal, is further away from where she grew up, but has quickly settled and fallen in love with Cork.

‘I’ve gone from being a hack in the city to now gearing up to be a farmer’s wife! Noel is completing his Green Cert and we are about to build the home of our dreams,’ she explained.

‘We’re just about to submit planning permission for the construction, so it’s all systems go.’ Aine plans to log the development of their new home from greenfield site to completed dream home.

As she writes about parenting three busy children, negotiating mortgage applications and thinking about what kind of windows their house needs, Aine documents what’s going on in their busy lives that day.

‘I’ve spent the past five years either pregnant or breastfeeding – or both – so now I’m coming out of the new baby fog and exploring new style, fake tan and make-up for the first time in a long time,’ Aine told The Southern Star.

A post she wrote about a stay in CUH with baby Tessa was read nearly 40,000 times and other popular posts included a list of things that happen during pregnancy that no one ever tells you about. ‘It was shared multiple times on Facebook,’ she noted. Aine is currently running a reader giveaway on her page and would love someone local to win some of the goodies.
