CARBERY Group has again captured an array of honours at the 2019 Global Cheese Awards, the longest running cheese show in Britain, which took place in Frome in Somerset.

They scooped a total of 11 awards including three gold, three silver and five bronze medals: three golds for Dubliner 3 cheese grated blend, Carbery cracker and Carbery extra mature cheddar; three silvers for Dubliner lighter white, Carbery lactose free and its half fat cheese and five bronze for Carbery smoke house, Dubliner lighter white, Carbery cracker, Carbery mature Irish cheddar and its reduced fat cheese.

For over 155 years, the Frome Cheese Show has provided producers, retailers and their associates with a platform from which to showcase their latest and best offerings.  These latest wins for Carbery add to an already impressive number of accolades and awards for its cheeses achieved at various international events in recent years.

Jerry O’Sullivan, Carbery Group cheese production manager, said: ‘We are immensely proud to again receive such recognition for the quality of our Carbery cheeses on such a prestigious international stage. These awards demonstrate that products made at Ballineen are of the highest standard. As one of Ireland’s leading producers of cheese for the retail, ingredient and foodservice sectors, our reputation for quality is so important to us and a key measure of how we do business.’

Carbery’s facility in Ballineen is the largest single cheese-producing facility in Ireland. The plant produces almost 25% of Ireland’s annual cheese output, including products such as the Dubliner brand, Carbery Cracker, cheddar, reduced fat cheeses and red Leicester cheese.
