The final of the first ever Strictly Dunmanway took place in the Parkway Hotel to a full house. The fundraising event was in aid of Doheny GAA Club, Doheny Ladies GAA Club and Sam Maguire’s GAA Club. Kenneth O’Donovan and Diane O’Neill wowed both the judges and audience alike with their salsa and were crowned the winners. Jerry McCarthy and Emma Walsh came in second place.

‘It was our first time organising this and it was a huge success. We had close to 900 people over the two nights that we held it,’ said a spokesperson for the Strictly Committee. ‘We would like to thank the MCs on both nights who were Daniel Lehane and Paul di Rollo and our judges Nora Scannell, Michael Milner and Jenny O’Gorman, all of our dancers who were fantastic and all the volunteers who made this possible,’ they added.

For those who missed the glitzy event a DVD will be on sale this month capturing all the glamour and dancing of Strictly Dunmanway.
