SKIBBEREEN Rugby Club’s Jamie Shanahan scored two tries as Munster U18 Clubs defeated Leinster 33-29 at Donnybrook to retain the interprovincial title.

Skibbereen’s Shanahan (Skibbereen Community School) and Padraig McCarthy (Bantry Bay RFC/Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí) both started for Munster in this title decider, and both played a role in this epic that saw Shanahan score a dramatic late winning try.

In fact, Shanahan scored two tries in the second half, the first to help move Munster 28-19 in front and the second helped the men in red come from behind (29-28) to win by four points.
