Player of the match Cronin stars in All-Ireland senior camogie final success

ORLA Cronin put West Cork camogie on the map on Sunday – and she then told the watching world how proud she is to be from this special region.

The Enniskeane star was named player of the match as she helped Cork regain the All-Ireland senior title at Croke Park on Sunday, with Orla scoring three points in the dramatic 0-10 to 0-9 win against Kilkenny.

When interviewed by Marty Morrissey on The Sunday Game last night, after winning the coveted player of the match award, a thrilled Orla didn’t forgot her roots here in West Cork.

‘It’s a huge honour to be representing West Cork on the Cork team,’ UCC student Orla said.

‘There is a huge bunch of camogie players in West Cork. We’re not known for our camogie, we’re known for more football in that direction.

‘There’s myself, the Murrays, Liam O’Reilly, Libby Coppinger, we’re all representing West Cork and we’re all delighted!’
