THE homecoming in Skibbereen next Monday night to celebrate Olympic Games silver medalists Gary and Paul O’Donovan will start at 7pm.

Starting on the Cork Road at 7pm, the Lisheen brothers will be carried through the town on an open top bus, with the route taking them through North Street, turning right onto Main Street before arriving in the Fairfield (the old mart) in the middle of town.

Here, RTÉ’s Jacqui Hurley will interview the Skibbereen Rowing Club stars, as well as chat to their coach Dominic Casey, as they will relive their silver-winning performance in the men’s lightweight double sculls at the Olympics in Rio.

A crowd of up to 10,000 is expected to descend on the Olympians' home town for this celebration of their achievement, and live music, entertainment and big screens will all add to the atmosphere.
