Crosshaven celebrates €5.6m Lotto win

CROSSHAVEN is celebrating a mega €5.6m Lotto jackpot today after the winning ticket was sold in Lynch's Centra in the village.

The winning numbers were 2,17,24, 35,40 and the bonus number was 36. It was a Quick Pick ticket and the winning amount was €5,685,384.

The shop's owner, Bernard Lynch, who is actually on holidays with his family in Lanzarote said he is delighted with the news.

'We just can't believe it, what a win for the people of Crosshaven! I'm away on my Easter break with the family but it was a nice surprised to get the call from the National Lottery on Saturday night. I managed to get hold of the staff in the shop before they closed up for the night and they went absolutely wild,' said Bernard.

'Whoever the winner is, we are absolutely delighted for them and we wish them every bit of luck. If the winner of this life-changing sum happens to be one of our neighbours or friends, it'll be all the sweeter. In my absence from the store, I have been told that celebrations are well underway this morning. We're calling on everybody in the locality to drop into the store and to check their tickets to see if they have won the €5.6 million jackpot.'
