Man killed in Belgooly crash

A man has died following a two vehicle collision near Belgooly last night.

A MAN in his 70s has died following a two vehicle collision on the R600 at Ballinacourty, Belgooly last night at around 9.55pm.

The collison involved a car, a Susuki Swift and a Bus Eireann bus and the man was the sole occupant of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no injuries reported from the  occupants of the bus.

The body of the deceased man, who is believed to be from the local area was removed to CUH where a post mortem is expected to take place.

Gardaí are investigating the scene of the collision and  the road will be closed between Coolcorran, Riverstick and Lybe, Belgooly to allow for a Collision Forensic Examination of the area. Local diversions are in place.
