Clonakilty's floral displays attract huge attention and admiration

CLONAKILTY’S 2016 floral displays are ‘outstanding' and all involved are to be commended, according to Una Fleming of AOIFA, who recently judged Clonakilty’s Collins, Brooks & Associates Window Box & Hanging Basket competition.

Pearse Street was judged to be the Best Street, with Fahey’s Pub declared Best Overall in addition to winning the Public House category.

Following an earlier invitation to businesses and private residents to extend a ‘Welcome with Flowers’ to the town following the recent street upgrading, the response was most impressive and once again the Municipal District displays received special recognition.

Roni Collins, on behalf of the sponsors, congratulated all who participated in the beautification of the town and commented on the many well-deserved compliments paid by visitors to new-look Clonakilty.

Prizegiving will take place at a later date.
