Niamh Crowley (14) from Snave near Bantry, was named winner of the recent West Cork’s Got Talent competition organised by the Westlodge Hotel in conjunction with The Southern Star.

As part of her prize, we invited Niamh to come and perform in front of our cameras for the Southern Star Sessions, and she pulled out all the stops to give a stunning rendition of Alicia Keys’ ‘New York’ – the song she performed in the final of West Cork’s Got Talent and in doing so left the judges in no doubt that she was deserving of top honours in the competition.

Read Niall O'Driscoll's interview with Niamh in this week's paper (out Thursday), in which she talks about her influences and her hopes for what we think is a very bright musical future.

Watch this space for more from The Southern Star Sessions as we endeavour to bring you more great talent from around West Cork, but in the meantime, click below to see just how good Niamh is. Enjoy!
