Two buddies, Michael Hodnett and Martin O’Callaghan, are going to bare all on Friday, February 12th, the night of the ‘Glow Run’ in Skibbereen.

TWO buddies, Michael Hodnett and Martin O’Callaghan, are going to bare all on Friday, February 12th, the night of the ‘Glow Run’ in Skibbereen.

‘When I say bare all,’ Michael Hodnett said, ‘I’m not talking about making any major confession: I am simply referring to the fact that my neighbour, Martin, and I are going to shave our fuzzy beards and thinning tops to raise funds for a great cause, Eva’s Hope.’

In addition to the head shaving main event, there will be an eighties disco at McCarthy’s Bar at Ilen Street in Skibbereen.

The ‘disco’ will start at 9.30pm and the pub’s amiable host, Frank McCarthy, will be serving tasty finger food on the night.

Such is the level of goodwill towards Eva’s Hope that people have even provided generous prizes for a fundraising raffle.

Michael’s niece – Skibbereen-based hairdresser and fashionista Grainne Collins – will be doing the honours on the night. That should be hilarious but not take from the sincere and serious efforts to raise money for Eva who is unwell but ‘making memories’ with her mum and dad.
