Mary to represent Carbery Macra region

Mary Sheehan from Clonakility Macra who will be representing the Carbery region in the national final of Ms Macra over the forthcoming August bank holiday weekend.

The national final of Ms Macra takes place over the August bank holiday weekend and Mary Sheehan from Clonkility Macra will be representing the Carbery region.  

THE national final of Ms Macra takes place over the August bank holiday weekend and Mary Sheehan from Clonkility Macra will be representing the Carbery region.  

Mary Sheehan who is originally from Kerry moved down to Clonakility to go to the Agricultural College at Darrara and is now after falling in love with the town and especially her Clonakility Macra colleagues. She is actively involved in the club and has taken part in every competition that Macra has to offer. 

Mary loves playing music and charms people with her musical talent and her dancing skills. She has done a great job for her club and region in getting the name of the Macra Na Feirma out there.  

She played an active part in getting her club to the National Talent competition finals and the Capers finals. The region wished Mary all the best over the August bank holiday weekend; for more information, check out the Carbery Macra facebook page.   

Clonakility Macra had an end-of-year celebration night for their club on Friday, July 1st last. 

Ballinadee Macra Club won the Carbery Macra novice farm skills at Dunmanway Show recently. Five teams took part and Aidan Dullea of Ballinadee Macra was presented with the Derek Deane Cup by members of the Deane family.On Wednesday 6th last, the national final of the stock judging took place when Aoife Healy from Ballinascarthy Macra and Anthony Buckley from Caheragh Macra represented the region. They did a great job in representing the region and their clubs.   

This Sunday, July 17th, Crossmahon Macra will be holding a tractor run, followed by a barbecue for ‘Know Your Neighbour’ day. All proceeds raised will go to Bandon Community Hospital.
