Ludgate's strategic link-up with the Cork Foundation

THE Cork Foundation has been announced as a strategic partner of Skibbereen’s Ludgate Hub.

 The Foundation connects local and international donors to social enterprise projects in the community, such as Ludgate. 

The West Cork-based hub aims to facilitate up to 75 people in a creative co-working environment, with a long-term objective of creating sustainable 500 jobs for the area. 

And, like Cork Foundation, Ludgate is focused on engaging with the Irish diaspora and in facilitating job growth.

Cork Foundation say they are excited to work together with the Ludgate Hub to help foster the entrepreneurial spirit that already exists in West Cork, whilst also impacting the community in an effective manner. By partnering with Ludgate, they say this reinforces Cork Foundation’s focus on creating jobs, empowering the community and giving back locally. 

Chairperson of Cork Foundation, Aine Collins said: ‘This is a very exciting initiative for Cork Foundation, and we are calling on Cork people around the world to support this unique inspiring project.’

Adrienne Harrington, Ludgate chief executive added: ‘We at Ludgate are delighted to partner with the Cork Foundation, an organisation that shares many of our same values. This new relationship will allow Cork people, living both in Ireland and abroad, to support the work that we are doing at Ludgate in a very real way.’

Cork Foundation chief executive Padraic Vallely  said: ‘This is a prime example of the projects that Cork Foundation support, a community which is creating jobs, but also giving back to the community. We look forward to engaging and exploring all these possibilities with Ludgate.’
