Kinsale ladies have raised their game, says O'Connor

KINSALE ladies have taken their game to the next level, according to manager Michael O’Connor.

Kinsale thumped Clonmel Commercials 5-14 to 1-5 in the Munster ladies football intermediate club football final at Mallow last Saturday to qualify for a home All-Ireland semi-final on November 19th, and O’Connor was full of praise for his team that won the provincial junior crown last season.

‘These girls have stepped it up another notch since last year, and I couldn’t be happier with the performance they delivered (against Clonmel),’ O’Connor said.

‘They have upped their work-rate enormously, and they have really bonded as well following the run to the 2016 All-Ireland junior final.

‘It’s obviously a tremendous achievement to win the Munster intermediate championship with such ease in our debut campaign at this level, and I suppose we are in bonus territory now heading into an All-Ireland semi-final.’

Kinsale will now host Connacht champions Moycullen in the All-Ireland intermediate semi-final on Sunday, November 19th, at 1pm.
