SUPT Declan O’Sullivan and the gardaí in Bantry have developed a new initiative, primarily aimed at people who have been victims of burglaries in the past.

The ‘Victim of Crime’ packs, launched in February, contain window and door sensor alarms, timer switches, stickers, UV pens for marking property and a property marking booklet, as well as relevant information sheets.

The Victim of Crime packs provide the gardaí with a welcome chance to re-visit people who have endured the awful experience of having their homes burgled.

Gardaí spend time with the victims and carry out a risk assessment of their home and ensure that it’s target-hardened against future break-ins.
