Clonakilty launches new blackpudding sausages

THE Clonakilty Food Company has recently launched new blackpudding sausages, combining two of their best-loved products – the traditional flavour of their popular Clonakilty Sausages mixed with the unmistakable texture and flavour of the famous Clonakilty Blackpudding.

The receipe was first created in the 1880s at Edward Twomey’s butcher shop at 16 Pearse Street Clonakilty. Today, the Twomey’s continue to develop new recipes combining traditions of the past with innovations of today.

These tasty Irish sausages are very versatile and can be enjoyed on their own, with a salad for a light bite, with mash and gravy for a hearty dinner, or as part of a full Irish breakfast. They can be grilled, pan-fried or even barbequed.  

The Clonakilty Blackpudding Sausages are available in 75 Tesco stores, a range of independent shops nationwide  and will be in leading Irish retailers in the months ahead. Colette Twomey, co-founder of Clonakilty and sole guardian of the secret spice reicipe for Clonakilty Blackpudding said, ‘We are very excited to launch our new Clonakilty Blackpudding Sausages.  The combination of our Clonakilty sausage and blackpudding come together to create an all new taste experience which I hope you will enjoy.
